How to do this safely when on own and with someone else without providing interest to the crocs nearby?

I'd be going flat stick and do a James Bond style exit from the water and see if I couldn't leap about 100m or so onto dry land.

Safety clip will be the hook on the front from the winch post on the trailer. If you needed to there are some automatic type clips or latches designed to assist one man launch/retrieve. Alternatively I noticed one guy would drive up the trailer and clip on one of those webbing straps to the bow rail dust to hold the boat until the entire unit was out of the water and the trailer job could be done properly. Still a bit risky if it gave way, many a boat left on the ramp!

If I had to put up with that, you could keep your photo-shopped fish.

mate as long as you dont do any thing silly like walk around back boat in water etc you will be fine, i do mine all the time bye my self.
Back boat down have long rope tied to front of boat, push the boat of holding rope so it floats out past the trailer then tie or anchoer up of bank. drive your trailer out. Don't think there's ever been reported attack launching boats ??? dont be the first or i will feel guilty for few days

Thanks guys.

I read elsewhere that the skids on poly dedicated trailers are slippery and will not take much to dislodge the hull.

Hence, I am a little curious how well the boat would remain on the trailer between the time you jump out of your seat and walk to front of boat to attach the safety clip...especially on an inclined boat ramp...??

Mine stays there as long as the throttle is open. Hook it on, throttle back, switch off AND REMEMBER TO LIFT ENGINE BEFORE DRIVING UP RAMP.

different than Doug i also leave mine in gear while the throttle is at about 1/8 throttle
i found the forward gear works especially well
