Hello to everyone,
I have just become a member of PBO and also a new 4.8 rear centre console owner.
I just thought that I would introduce myself to you all. I have just moved to Gladstone QLD from Kalgoorlie WA and I am brand new to fishing. I did 4 months research before buying my poly, here are a few reasons why I did,
1, stability at rest
2, self boyancy
3, quiet ride
4, you can treat them a lot worse than the rest and get away with it
5, alot less maintenance required because it wont dent, rust, crack or get cancer.

Welcome Bingo.Welcome to Queensland
I haven't taken any photos of the brumby yet, but it is torres blue with a rear centre console and a honda 75 on the back with a stainless steel prop. I also have a front casting platform, hydraulic steering and duel batteries. I'm still learning the boat but i am enjoying the learning experience.

Sounds like my dream boat, oh one day. You have moved into some good fishing country. I go to Cape Capricorn for a week each year just up the road (sea) from you. The Brumby would be an ideal fishing machine for there. I am sure you are going to get a lot of pleasure from it

From Kal to Gladstone, there's a change of scenery. Good on you Bingo. I currently spend my evenings fantasizing about owning a Brumby. If you are entirely new to fishing you are in for interesting times, varying between totaly extatic, cheek cramping euphoria, and completely absolute, tear renching depression. Sometimes it breaks my heart to love it so much... Anyway.. good on you again, though I do not yet own a plastic fantastic fish extractant, I welcome you to the world of angling.
Cheers,
Keith.
My old hobbie was gold prospecting so my wife is used of the mood swings.
Interesting... I am *from* Gladstone (though not now living in WA), and waiting on the delivery of my 4.8 rear CC. Sounds like we have some things to discuss.
Cheers,
Shane.

Welcome bingo and nice choice of boat, those honda's are very frugal on fuel and will run high revs all day no worries from what i've seen.
Sweeden, what part of W.A do you lurk in?
The honda is good on fuel and it's that quiet you have to look at the revs at times to tell if it is running. I'm still trying to work out how to post photo's , if anyone know's the easy way can you let me know,

Hey Bingo, nice boat mate!2thumbsup
Honda wont give you any hassles either!
I had a 60 on an Aluminium Punt I had a few years ago, great motors!
You will have many hours of fun boating in the "Blue Oyster"!doh
Well done, best of luck for the future.
Nice rig bingo - you've given me some ideas already!
Really Nice man :)
Just had to get the boy to pass me a tissue to wipe the droul from my mouth :P
Im sure there's gunna be plenty of good times to be had in that beast!
Nice rig, and nice place to live and use it! Am just up the road at rocky. welcome to the forum, and remember to abide by the only rule ive ever heard of....Blame Doug!
It's good to get all of the feedback that you guys are giving, it reinforces the fact that my decision to buy the brumby was the right one. If any of you guys know of a poly welder around the Gladstone, Rockhampton or Bundy area that can do some work on my boat can you let me know as I want to make it a little bit dryer. Also has anyone ever tried to build a plastic screen /room around their console to keep dry on the rough days, it would be interesting to see if it would work.
