I looked at all those pics thinking . . . . . . . . . . Bugger we dont get fish that big here until I saw the Squid. . . . . . . . . . .

That is about the best size squid we catch in our neck of the woods, at the northern end of the straits they catch bigger ones, but still good eating and good whole bait size.

I have found the smaller squid are much better eating and the larger ones are good for bait.

I see you are based in the Torres Straits. I was on TI in the early eighties and that is where I caught the fishing bug. No poly boats back then but imagine they are perfect for that area. No gps or fishfinders on our small tinnies either. Have great memores of the place. Even ate the wongai fruit which is supposed to bring you back
