Hi all,
I've been going through the old site looking at different mods and things the members have done, getting ready to order my new boat. I found a thread where Lipper and Squizzy where creating an aftermarket launch and retrieval latch. Interesting reading, as were all the other mods undertaken (wish I could have seen the pics that I cant download). I looked at the boat buddy mentioned as an aftermarket option, but there are a fair few bad reports from different genres of boating enthusiasts. In my beer fueled research (earlier this evening... please forgive any bad spelling, grammer, language or logic) I stumbled across this product- www.recoverezy.com.au . I dont know how to make it a hyperlink, or even include a photo, and I am to afraid to try and figure it out now in case I lose all my typing and have to do it again at this time of night on a sunday evening, but it looks a little ripper. If I get this boat that I so crave, it will be launched from a sand landing at the front of the resort I work at from behind a tractor. The depth varies depending on the tide and sometimes we have to reverse our ferries out a good 50m, and if I was taking punters on this sort of tide in my Brumby, they would have to walk that far. No good. I was wondering what you guys think of this product and if anyone has ever seen one. It looks sweet... simple and easy, but do you think it would work on a heavy poly, if it does work why havnt we all got one.
Cheers,
Keith.

Hey look, It made it a hyperlink automatically, amazing!!!

They are a good idea. I think we are all missing it from our boats and trailers because of the price. I cant remember where I saw the pricing but it was a lot.

They would work fine on the poly. With the trailer design, it makes it a breeze to drive the boat on, and it would just clip straight in.

A guy here has a Stabicraft which is 7m. He drives on his trailer, leaves the motor in gear, then gets out and puts the winch cable on. Cimbs back in and turns off the motor. Seems cumbersome but works for him trying to manage a large boat by himself.

If you have the open/CC boat, then you could do something similar but lean over the front and hook on. Then turn off and raise the motor.

When I drive my 5.3 on I usually dont have to worry about it sliding back into the water as I dont put the trailer in as deep as I do when launching. The boat just sits there & I walk round the side of the cab, step down onto the spare wheel & then onto the draw bar & the ground, clip the winch cable on a couple of turns on the winch & away I go.

Yes Dave, a tad personal.I suppose if he didn't, he would look like this :eek:shock winding the boat back on, for those of clean mind.

Yes thats right Dave I just run dry skids. I have had trouble once because of this as the ramp I used was shallower & the boat didnt float off the trailer.
