Hi guys it's been awhile since i have been out last.
Went out from Bribie Island on tuesday morning, got heaps of livies on the way out, headed out to Hutchinsons reef along with every one else it was like a car park out there.Got nothing but under size ones so headed up to coloundra wide. Nothing touched the livies at all not even a nibble, same with the pillies .We caught every thing on whole squid. We got a feed of parrot and spangled emperor, i got a nice cobia ,weather turned up a few notches and so we headed in. Still sat on 50klm per hour, the new deckies started to hang untill they saw how good the boat was handling the rough stuff.
Cheers Steve

you definantly DO NOT throw cobia back, they grow to 40kg's but i've never seen them bigger than 20kgs but regardless of size they taste fantastic and fight really well. can't really target them unless you find some manta rays and cast to them, a occasional bycatch fishing off the bottom but are still caught on a balloon out the back or trolling a minnow lure.

used to catch little ones at night off the local jetty when i was a few years younger. distant rellie of the samson fish and YTK but much better tasting.

Good haul of fish there Steve
