Hi All,
I am new to the Forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Sydney and I am currently having a 5.3mtr Frontrunner built. I will be using it in a small commercial business venture involving boating skills training from basic to advanced level. I am an ex NSW Fisheries Officer with 28 years rec and commercial boating experience.

I chose a Polycraft due to ease in getting the boat into commercial survey - you wouldnt believe the hassle that is required to do this!

The boat will be fitted with foam flotation (survey requirement) hydraulic steer and a 115 four stroke Yamaha. I am looking forward to see how the boat performs as I have read many positive reviews abouy Polycraft boats.

Welcome aboard Captain Jack. Chose a Poly for the same reason as it was easier to get into survey. Ours is a 4.55 which we use for licence training with our students. As a result I also bought myself a poly (4.1). We also have a tuffie but the flotation almost doubles its weight.

Welcome aboard Cap'n Jack. We need more commercial boaties here - there's too many amateurs hanging around.

*closes door and waits for the grenade to go off*

I don't know why Poly don't just make all their larger boats with foam and then they would all be capable of being put in survey.

Hi Capt'n Jack

Rick here from Marine Cabs, my yellow 5.3m Cuddy, has just been through the ringer, Stability trials approved , final survey check approved, waiting on the Bluebook and survey plate from Maritime.

Note to others, I have just completed the task appointed by National Poly Industries, of having the 4.5m, 4.8m, 5.3m, and 5.99 hulls approved by Maritime NSW in Prototype Survey Status, this is a giant leap forward for the Polycraft range, as it will add a new dimension to marketing, and hopefully being more of the Polycraft range into the commercial market, there were a few hoops that needed to be jumped through, but Brad and the Polycraft team, came through like a team of champions.

There are differences between the various states and the survey requirements, but with NSW and VIC being most stringent, this heeds well for the hole range of poly hulls.

As far as I know (correct me if others know better), Polycraft must be one of a select few that can boast Commercial Survey (Prototype) Approval on just about their entire fleet.

If anyone out there needs any assistance feel free to contact me.

PS, Glenn has done a splendid job with the 5.3Cuddy, and the 115hp HO Etec is (so far) a little marvel

G'day Captain Jack

Welcome aboard! Good luck with your new venture.

Further to Marine Cabs post, Rick and Brad from Polycraft have been working behind the scenes to push these models through all the hoops Waterways could put up! I take my hat of to Rick for having the patience and tenacity to tackle the bureaucratic jungle!
We (Polycraft Dealers) have a huge advantage in the security with-in Polycraft's approach to dealing with the governing bodies.
They don't or didn't sit on their hands and leave it to the customer to wade through it all?
I cant recall any other manufacturer that can boast 80% of their model range being survey compliant?
Speaking with Polycraft in regards to this feat I know they are forever grateful for Rick's assistance.

Thanks Rick!
