Okay, I am coming clean. I wanted and still would like a poly, but finances prohibited it. I have a great little 4.43m Nereus cabin with a new 60hp merc two-stroke (new at the time) and love it to bits. Have made so many additions and alterations on a limited budget. The best is my anchor design. Put some on ebay but nobody wanted to pay what I think they are worth. Needed a "dry" boat for around here hence the cabin. Looked high and low for a cuddy like Daves but none around at the time and the price. Added a permatrim which I picked up on listening to you guys and still preach the good word about polys to many. Maybe one day xlotto will be nice to me but in the meantime I will still drop in here on a regular basis and see what is happening. Just please don't hate me guys!!!

pics included, hopefully, with a heap of mods. 1762, 1759, introducing "Ditto", had just over 2 years, been a member on here about 3 1/2 years. Anchor, my anchor design, works great, no more cable ties for me. 1760, electric anchor winch, every boat should have one. electric trailer winch, every trailer should have one, though got the 1000kg, shoulda got the 1500kg. Had trouble reaching to put the cable hook onto boat, so made a stainless handle approx 40cm, makes it so much easier. Clutch on electric winch not good enough to hold boat so made new "winch tree" and put on manual winch also, better cos have both now. 1761, Permatrim, stainless coffee mug on transducer to stop fine spray coming back into cabin. "Light board" on trailer originally, made and had hot-dipped galv two posts for lights and number plate, don't have to hook up board every trip. 13" holden mags to lower trailer slightly and to not rust as steel had. Also made some new brackets for runners on trailer. In the proces of making a stainless bait-board and a stainless petrol tank........now hold on.......as with most things I do, I have researched lots and downloaded some specs on how to build/design it, so don't anyone go thinking it will be too much of a back-yard job. Welding will be by a professional, all will be safe. Still an ongoing project like the rusty mud-guards getting replaced.......but it's my hobby.....

Well done Bill

The anchor looks interesting. Shouldn't get stuck easily, how does it hold in sand?

The rig looks like you have it set up well. 2thumbsup 2thumbsup 2thumbsup

Haven't had any trouble with it holding in sand. Haven't had much oportunity to test it on reef yet, though have had it stuck in snapper wrecks a coupla times, pulled it out backwards as I designed and it works great. Still got it!!! Just no snapper ................

How much & what size chain do you run with it?

About 3m of short-link (i think 6mm) as suitable for the electric winch. I have sold 4 anchors so far, three through a local boat dealer. I am told that one is on a 20' Nereus at Pt Augusta and the owner is quite happy with it.
