ok guys,
Im finally in the market for my 1st Poly. Im after a 4.5m CC. things such as cast decks, bow mount leccy are all an advantage for me but not a must have. Looking for a BMT in good cond and ready to fish. MUST have atleast a 50hp
Not looking at Brand new just 2nd hand rigs.
Im in NSW and looking up to $15k if its the right boat.

mate a 4.5 will be hard to find second hand, try and see if an older 4.55 will fit the bill for you, at 10k this one looks ok

Thanks for that link mate. Iv got the cash so id rather pay more for a better boat. Im not interested with all the canopies and crap on it. Leaves holes when I rip it all off etc plus the old donk on it. Not what im looking for.
Ill just be patient (which I find really hard lol) for the right boat to come along. Seems there is nothing on the market at present so ill just sit tight and keep an eye out for the next month or 2 and see what pops up. Ill go new if that ends up being the only option but id rather not have to. Thanks again.

Hi Jas, yep i think Poly is right, the 4.5 will be a bit short on at the moment. There should be plenty of 4.55s' around.
If it's got the extras, you only have to use a heat gun to seal up the holes again.
If you end up looking at new, get on to Glenn (Bigfella), he is at Lemon Tree Passage and will look after you
ok guys next question. Whats the diff in the hull design of the 4.5 compared to the 455?Does the 455 still have the metal bracket on the tansom for the engine etc and hulls shapes etc? both have underfloor fuel or???
Not that I can find any 455's for sale in CC anyway. Unless im looking in the wrong spots but iv looked at em all I think. May just have to wait id say.

The 4.55 has mini pods at the rear corners which have been removed on the 4.5 (not sure how much difference that makes).
The 4.5 has larger square seats in the rear corners (the 4.55 has smaller curved ones).
That's all I can think of at the moment, they are very similar.
The 4.55 was Polycrafts' first attempt at a boat, and not bad.
The 4.5 is a better thought out thing though. The front storage bin is more user friendly, the rear seats in the corners double as storage (I think?).
The transom is a different design, and may reduce the likelihood of water splashing in over the transom, although it was never a problem on the 4.55.
I think the sides are more vertical inside as well, or less "bath tub-like".
All PC boats throughout the range have the ally plating on the transom to give the outboard mounting some rigidity.
The underfloor fuel tank was an option, so any 2nd hand boat may or may not have it. Definitely a big plus, and a hideously expensive option.
If you want to compare the 2 boats, my 4.55 (AKA Tully) is home in Charlestown, and Bream Reaper (AKA Janos) has a 4.5 over the other side of the lake somewhere.

Hi Jas, are you after a 2 stroke or 4 stroke? Only reason I ask is you will get a New Boat, Trailer and 50-60 2 banger for 15k.

Yeh I know mate but they are very bare boats for that coin new and once they are decked and fishable you are looking at $18k otherwise thats the way id go. Ill just check the usual boatpoint etc every ouple of weeks and see if something pops up. My boat sold today so im cashed up and looking.

There was a dark blue poly for sale in hervey bay when i was down there on the weekend, pretty sure it had a honda?? 4st on he back. Perhaps if one of the boys from down there happenss to read this they could have a look at price for you?

If your still after a 4.5 i will have mine up soon its all fairly new only done 100 hours in 2 years boat is clean as.
Mate, The one in hervey bya is still for sale. honda motor, though it was an open boat not a CC....Unsure of price (could'nt stop) though im sure could find out.

If so it's out on chapple road, between main and wood's roads if i remember correctly.

im from the bay, if its the one Im thinking of. its a blue 4.55 with a 50hp yammy elec start and trim and tilt 2005 i think he had $11000.
I rang the guy about it but the missus didn;t like blue so I ordered a new one....
yes on chaple road off main street over ghost hill.
