4.8 CC or RCC or Side console

Hi all

Have been a member now for a while I follow alot of the topics with interest but don't post too much.
I purchased a 4.8 CC with 80 Suzi last year but haven't had much off a chance to use it much or do any mods to it as yet. But am toying with the idea of either changing it to a side or rear centre console and possibly changing out the console to a 4.5 console because the console in the 4.8 dosen't have alot of room on it and for the size I believe it takes up too much floor space.
Am wondering if anyone can provide any ideas or suggestions?
Do the side consoles have any blast to even out the weight distribution?
Would the 4.5 console be too small for the 4.8?
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Robin,
Side console on my 4.5 seems big enough for what i need, but it does not give any real protection from spray. I dont think it has any balast on the opposite side, but the console cant weigh more than 30kg at most. my boat does list when going slow and I am sitting on one side (to be expected) but is generally OK on the plane. I will take a photo of the console if you want and post it. I fit tac, wheel, compass, fuel guage and a 5 gang switch panel. I also have my gps/sounder mounted on the top. Let me know if you want a photo.

Mate, pics of my 4.5 side console. the bottom is filled with battery and radio, not much room for much else but a spare hat and bushmans. eperb bracket to the right, gauges and sounder/gps on top. I am thinking of putting a alloy bar wrapped over the top of the perspex?? as another hand hold. The silver thing you can see is the bimini folded down. Let me know if you want any other details.
