Hi, I have a 6 m Trident poly longboat which is now about 12 yrs old.Bought in PNG while on a contract and shipped back. Powered by a Mariner Marathon 60 hp (Merc Bigfoot). It has a poly centre console and hatches up front. It is the forerunner to the Flexihull and has the same hull shape (same mould). It gets extensive use (it's out as I write with my elder son at Wavebreak Island) and has been a great family and fishing boat. It is pretty much in the same condition as when we bought it. Great in a straight line through waves but the narrow width makes it roll in a beam sea. However as it only gets used in Moreton Bay and on the Gold Coast estuaries that's not an issue. Has me sold on poly boats. Have had other boats but the ease of maintenance, toughness and ride ensure that I'll stay with poly.
