Well its official. Im a poly member now. Nothing flash but I picked up my new polycraft 4.1m today. Unfortunately the local dealers didnt want my money so they obviously are earning plenty and dont need to sell anymore boats. I ended up buying through Adventure Marine down in Batemans Bay. Iv never had a more plesant experience with sales people before. They were so friendly, helpfull and bloody good to deal with. So a huge thumbs up to them, really appreciated there efforts.

So i got the bare open hull with the carpeted front and rear hatches and the floor. Side console will be delivered to my house this week. Then ill fit my decks, console and hopefully have better luck finding a local dealer for the motor.

Ill throw up pics of the process as I go along, hopefully it ends up a half decent little bream rig for me and the family to enjoy.

Also a huge thanks to Mick (slippery) for being super helpfull with plenty of much needed advice.

okies time for bed. Was a looooong drive there and back all in one hit and im stuffed lol

Cheers Jas!

hey guys. Thanks for the offers and the pics. Those pics are a massive help for me. Lot of similarity between some of those ideas and slipperies ideas. They look great.

Im just not sure if I want to simply extend my front and rear decks or remove the hatches and put new front and rear tops on the decks. Im thinkn just extending will achieve what I need. The way you guys have done yours looks better but its taken ALOT of effort for that great result.

Sorry guys but im thinking I will have a poo load of questions along the way doing this.

FIRST question for the job is:

Mick (slippery) has bolted his bracket on the front for the bow mount. He needed to fit access panel, remove foam etc. BUT then I just seen your pics and im not sure if you bolted yours on Pete or have just used screws???? Or screws and a silicone product maybe im not sure?

Thanks heaps guys. IM hangn to get this boat done and get lure'n.

Cheers Jas

OH YEH. plenty of pics will come.

The 4.1 post I put up is Prickles, he was a member on the old site & the first to really do a mod on a 4.1. He hasnt joined the new forum. I posted his old posts in the reference section o his behalf as I knew you wanted to do something with yours.

Looking at this pic I would say he bolted it through but putting his arm up from the hatch.

Barry has some pics somewhere of his 4.1 & I believe that his is Poly Welded on.

The quick release can be safely screwed on Jas, My mounting was practically identical to the one in the pics, I had 1 bolt through the lip of the hull and 3 screws into the front deck of the boat and never had issues, the biggest trick with putting screws in the poly's is to drill a small pilot hole first so the screw can get purchase, if you try to direct screw in the poly it will generate too much heat and the screw will ultimately work its way out.

Many forum members in Canberra? I'm in Canberra at the moment (moving back to North QLD in a few months). I'd love to check out any 4.55 hulls if anyone has one? Looking for ideas for mine (will buy one as soon as I land back in gods country and start modding!)
Thanks
Drift.
