Hey guys,

Just a question for anyone with a tohatsu that has pwr trim. Im not sure if they wired something wrong or if its normal but I cant trim the motor up/dwn unless the ignition has the reds turned on. Very crap idea and not user friendly at all. Drifting the shallows Id find id quickly lean down to trim and couldnt get the motor up, had to get down, turn reds on then trim motor then found I kept leaving the key on all day. This is rubbish and im really hopeful it can be changed. The trim switch on the motor works when key is in off position but not the one on the controls.

cheers Jas!

Really???? I had a yammie 2 stroke and a host of others over the last 5 yrs and this is the 1st to be like this. Im pritty sure I can get it wired to be as I want so shouldnt be a big deal I hope.

cheers Jas!

I've a Tohatsu (30hp) 4 -stroke & power tilt/trim works whether motor is on or off. (Motor has electric start though - maybe that is the difference ?)

Jas, the trim switch on the engine itself should work with or without power, the one on the forward control will only work when the key is on.

yeh squizz thats how it is. its a crap idea. very very annouying. Iv emailed in-tune marine to see if they can rewire it to simply supply the control trim switch with a constant active. See what they say.

cheers Jas!
