G'day Polyholics,
Well, some of you may be wondering where I have been of late?
Haven't been in chat for a while, have only had to drop in and check PM's.
The photos below will help paint a picture, the floating office was built to accommodate our new business "Soldiers Point Boat Hire".
The owners of the Soldiers Point marina wanted an old style house boat that had the creature features of 2010!
Dimensions are 36ft(11.0m) x 11ft 6in(3450mm), 8ft(2400mm) ceiling 9ft 6in(2850mm) top of roof span from deck height.
The floats are poly modules 2.0mt x 1.2mt x .600mm.
We had to fabricate nose cones out of aluminium for travel and appearances.
Stability is awesome with the structure only drawing 3inches (75mm) when floated!
Big job there Glenn, looks like it just squeezed out of the shed. (ooh that could have been embarrassing)
What will be powering the big beasty?

Thanks Guys, yeah it was a huge project Chin, the biggest vessel I have built!doh
I designed the maximum width to "just" squeeze out of the roller door! 2thumbsup
The boys in the adjoining workshops were running a book to see if it would or wouldn't see the light of day!
It eventually did with just 30mm each side!!wtf
Floated with just 75mm of water needed under the keel!
Have had many inquiries now for weekender style house boats designed along the same "old American" house boats!
Big job there Glenn, looks like it just squeezed out of the shed. (ooh that could have been embarrassing)
What will be powering the big beasty?
A 4 stroke Yamaha of course !yippy

The office is a static office so no power needed just yet?
There is a small auxiliary motor bracket for use in and around the marina if needed. Other than that its sit there and just look pretty!yippy
We started with a photo from the internet for inspiration, no plans, no build sheet? Just a shed full of aluminium and a MIG Welder!!!!!
Side walls are cool room panel (75mm thick) the ceiling is timber with roofing battens, insulation batts and colourbond ultra for the sheeting.
Sliding doors are commercial built with tinted glass and sliding screens!
All inn all a fairly simple design that makes for an affordable weekender style house boat, should the need arise that is?
"Colourbond ultra"? Is that gonna rust?
Old Ibis had coolroom panel walls, and she was 22 years old, so that's good stuff. What's the floor made of?
Maybe I should buy one? I've gone from a fleet of 11 to one, overnight. I'm feeling inadequate! shock
So Glenn does it qualify for govt. roofing insulation rebate?
Doug.....too late now, but I reckon you could have used an office like that last year when yours became....damp. laugh1

G'day Doug
"Colourbond Ultra" is the preferred material to use when in close proximity to the sea. ;)
Or at least thats what they told us anyway?laugh1
The chassis is 200mm x 50mm box section with 75mm x 50mm cross bracing where needed.
The floor is 3mm Aluminium sheeting glued and pop riveted with marine grade carpet glued over the top.
Hand rails and gates are 50mm aluminium tubes, polished and covered with "Sharkhide" for longevity!

Thanks Squizzy,
Yeah the whole group effort has come together quite nicely!
Now the hard work starts, whipping up the customers!
Can anybody lend me a "bull whip" might need one me thinks!!!yippy
The chassis had to be stacked away each night to make way for the other boats! You can see how it makes Rod (my fabricator mate) look very small in statue?
"Under tow", the boys recon this shot looks like Im off on holidays with garage tin tow!
And the next two shots???? Well what can I say, someone has to do it!
The interior shot is for Poly, get your order in quick!!
