Rod Holders for polycraft

Hey everyone im new to this site but i must say theres alot of useful information here alot more then ive found anywhere else. The question I have if anyone can help me awnser it is, is it ok to drill a hole in the top of the gunwale walls for fitting rod holders??. they are just a standard rod holder $6 job from BCF, this wouldn't weaken the boat much would it?. Thanks.

Mate drill away! Wont make any difference to the gunwale area at all.
