As I have had a few requests for info on my ski pole in the 5.3 & others are looking to fit poles to their other sized boats I thought I should repost my info from the old site.

I have had my Ski Pole made up & am in the process of fitting it. I was luck enough to have a friend make it up for me. :) I happened to ask him what a piece of Stainless Steel 50mm in Diameter about 1M long would cost because I was looking to make my self 1 up a ski pole. He then replied that if I gave him the dimensions he would make it for me cos he would do a better job of it for me. wtf
Its made up of 3 pieces.

The Pole it self with a Flange that sits down onto the top of the Transom.
A Backing Plate to go up onto the underside of the Transom with bolts going through the Flange.
A Foot to hold the bottom of the pole.
I placed a sheet of clear contact to the Transom so I could mark things up & when I am finished I can just rip it off & hey look no marks. (I hope)

I then drilled another hole in my boat.

I had the pole made long so I could trim it to the right length as it was a bit hard to measure up. So after cutting the excess of it fits.

Poly boats are not all that square to work with & when I measured I allowed for the thickness of the lip where the seat sits but with it off I found that my measurements are wrong so I have to cut the collar of my base & re weld it.

I have plates inside under both the top of the Transom ( Note the loose nut on the back of the seat that I couldnt tighten. This might be fun when I need to get the seat recovered. )

and the base of the box in under the Transom

I had to take out the Bait Bin to reach the bolt on the starboard side.

I still have to put a bolt through the pole at the base

The Bait board sit over the top & rests on the very top of the pole giving it some more support.
