Spent 10 days down there. A few top days out on the water. Only managed to get west off the Capes one day and only managed a few small fish. The big dhu still escapes me as all we got were tweo undersize returned to grow big for another day. Ah well a very relaxing holiday all the same. Next week up to the shacks @ Grey hopefully for some more fishing over easter. Hope the weather comes to the party !
Cheers,
Ado

Looks great Ado! What are those red fish?

Keithy - the smallest red one is a western foxfish, the other two redish/brown ones are breaksea cod (blackarse cod). All have a very white, flakey flesh. Top eating :-)

funny u say that, I was going to :-) There's another that's a dead ringer for the coral trout over here in the south. It's the harlequin fish. Google it and you will see the smilarities are deffo there. also, very good on the tooth.

Ocean here looks like a massive puddle of extra strong iced coffee! I was going to take a shot of it to show ya's but I can't be bothered swimming down to the shore to take itdoh
It was much the same here last week, but it had croutons (logs) in it as well.

Yes its always fun navigating during a flood, trying to dodge all the timberburgs... is that a twig or the top of a tree...

The missis is to thank for this pic. I saw how glassy it was and told her to come and take the pic. Gotta love her commitment to the poly...lol. If only as enthusiastic come washdown time

The black arses do look very Coral Trout like and if they taste good then all the better, the harlequins do look very trout like to.

Bring it on Bruce!! I am getting withdrawals and there are no fish in sight for me for a couple of weeks!!
Here are a couple of pics of trouties we got on a trip with punters before the rains came. we nailed 8 or nine in the first half hour then the peckers showed up. It was blowin NW, which the troots dont seem to like.
