Hey guys new here as you can see. Currently have a 6.5 mtr glass centre console with a 225 evinrude on it. I have decided to look around for a 5.99 centre console any one no of a second handy at all ? And what would the minimum power be that I would need to push it. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.
Regards
Noel

Where are you Noel? We were wondering what happened to Rick from FNQ's 5.99. He's in Brisvegas now we think.

Any comments from the rank and file?

Welcome aboard, by the way, Noel, but disregard anyone here who has a coloured boat - they're all thieves and rogues, especially the yellow ones.:D:D:D

Thanks for the welcome Doug. I am on the N/side of Brisbane at Northlakes. I have seen one on Boat Sales.com it is at South west rocks between Coffs and Port Mcquarie. It has a 140 suzi and a few other bits and pieces. They are asking $32.500 I am trying to get there this w/end or next for a look.

Thanks to you Barry for the welcome. I try to get out on the water as much as work allows like us all. I gotta say I have only seen one 6 mtr poly ever out there. As i said on my last post there is one down South, I think it is a 2005 model hull and the 140 suzi is now due for a 200 hr service. Has nav man colour sounder no gps and a few other bits and pieces, All it appears to need is a targa top

Colour blind? That's like having two bob each way on this forum!

Seriously, does anyone know whether Rick (grunt type in disruptive pattern suit) has sold his 5.99? Or even where he's living now? Noel could be Rick's new best friend!

Bones? Bones? Bones?
Pay attention, that man!

Thanks to you all guys for the warm welcome. Hopefully before not too long I can make it official by owning one. As I said I am trying to look at one (5.99 cc) but am just unsure of the engine size at 140 suzuki, Any opinions on this please.

Hi Noel and welcome

I was seriously looking at this boat but too hard being so far away and travel difficulties.

Boat details here on Boatpoint (http://www.boatsales.com.au/boats-for-sale/boatdetails.aspx?seot=1&R=8370158&silo=-1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_Price_Decim al%7c1%7c%7cpCar_Make_String%7c0%7c%7cpCar_Model_S tring%7c0&Cr=&trecs=30&__N=1456%20285%204294911660)

Copy of the email from Josh with his email and phone number.

"...
Give us a call on 0407350537 and we can chat further. because this boat is commercially registered there can be some massive tax benefits in buying it. However since I am no longer going to b e running a business - I think that I can deregister for GST Prior to the sale meaning that I wouldnt have to pay any GST and neither would you.
cheers

I've got a 5.99cc on the way with a 175 suzuki, ill let you know how it performs. I've seen a boat test with a 130 honda and it reached 60km/h full throttle with a 5.99cc.

I would think 140 would be just under powerd, but then again you never know until you go for a test drive.

[QUOTE=poly;3182]hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I must ask why the change, you have a sweet ride why the change

Paul the reason is the Hull is an old Sea Eagle which about 6 years I did the Floor Bearers and every thing else internally including a total re configure for fuel and under floor kill tanks and a new console, transom and a new T/Top. I never touched the out side of the hull, It now needs to be done and I have had 3 quotes of $8000 to $10000. The motor dropped a piston ring locator about 2 years ago this resulted in a total rebiuld at $5500, So the motor is perfect just thirsty, I would like to do some trolling but its just to damn thirsty. I thought of repowering with a 175 suzuki But it will still be an old boat hence the reason I am looking at a poly. I am hoping it is the right move.
