View Full Version : need a boat name
Ok boys, after owning my boat for 8 or 9 years I think it's about time it had a name.It is a 4.55 white CC.I thought of "Polygraph" as fishermen are good at telling lies.Or "Hook Line & Stinker" a reference to outboards being stinkers (stink boats by sailors), but my Missus reckons it could also be a reference to me also shock.
How about "Unsinkable II"?
How about keeping the missus on her toes?

What about the "Flaming Placky Whacker" in reference to your favourite hobbies. Namely; Burning things (or stopping things burning), Polyboating, and ah..... you know.

Whacking,(Killing Cane Toads maybe) Keithy ?laugh1
I did read on Ausfish, a bloke called his boat "Make My Day" so every time he communicated with VMR it would go something like,VMR this is "Make My Day" reply was, "Go ahead, Make My Day".Very clever I thought.
What about "ChuckaSickie" shock No Aussie would do that !
How about "Unsinkable II"?
Doug,That would just prove my last boat was a tinnielaugh1.
Very tempted to name mine "GBSWAT"**. Getting sick of all the questions I have to answer almost every time I launch/retrieve my boat.laugh1

Acid? Me? It was just two Old Pharts bagging each other. That's what Old Pharts do (no Twitter, no Facebook no Skype - all the works of the Devil!)
If you want to see "acid" you should read my comments on the ex-military websites.shock:eek:.
Now, step back in line and keep quiet.:D:D
Acid? Me? ......................
Acid? Didn't we dabble with that in the 60's and 70's Doug?

Its funny what people relate to a name, I think it says something of the paticular persons character. For my new Brumby, I had to give it a "stage name" of sorts, something to put on the promo stuff and the like, I chose "the weary bay bandit", as we are on weary bay, and it sounds a little adventurous for the punters. Its amazing how often I say it to Aussies and they give a little snicker and reply "what.. like ass bandit?"
Where did the assosiation between bandits and arses come from? I have no idea

i like it giffo! probably because i do the exact same thing. i saw a good one the other day Nauti Girl i thought it was pretty clever.
Every time your boss see's that name he will be thinking, I need to get rid of that bloke,, the rotted bugger is always off fishin.
So have a look at this site, they seen to have an idea or two

I believe another fisherman from Giffos fire station called his boat "chuckagiffo"
Quite so, Chin! The bugger only works four hours a month as it is. Why would he need a sickie? If he takes any more time off they'll have to retrain him.
Gees, 4 hours a month,is that every month? I've got a life you know!laugh1
I WISH! I still post more fish pics than the fluff chuckers around herelaugh1 .
Doug you still got your DR's pad, there is a lot of money to be made writing out chits for for people taking sickie's you know.

Today when we went out to the Pacific Responder, we had to call him up to come along side to off load the paramedic for winch training.
The owner of the boat said he didnt have a licence or a name of his boat and didnt have a clue what to call on the radio... lol
He handed me the radio so i just used his last name as the boat name.... The Gilby... worked quite well...
Dave ,you don't have a radio on your new craft .But water Bevan may suitlaugh1

Yeah, that's wierd.. If they don't like Poly's you could say they don't know their heads from their arses.. But bandits and arses are pretty clear cut.
My boat's name is WANAKRAKA so maybe something along those lines.. Though mine is a lairy yellow boat.. White is a bit plain for a parrot reference.. Maybe mainly white could be Cockatoo.. Which is wrong because is people talk about arses to Keithy, wait until they see Cock in the name of your boat..
The amount of idiots that think they can see WANKER in the name of my boat..
The standard of spelling and word recognition today is woeful!
