Gipsy Point

Hi Guys
I am heading home from SI ( Solomon Islands ) for some r 7r and am thinking of taking the poly for a few days down to Gipsy Point Malacutta Inlet.
Anyone know what the fishing is like and where are the good places to stay

Hey Keithd,

Firstly not too sure of the best places to stay. Gipsy Point is a little way from the town of Mallacoota but there is a pretty good motel there. Best bet may be the town it self.

The fishing can be unreal but you can also get many days of rain at this time of the year. Bream or Flattie fishing is the go and the best starting point is the tackle shop for a map of the top and bottom lakes. I have had great success fishing the shallow water of Goodwin sands and throwing lures around the Narrows and Cape Horn.

The pub is very good and they also offer accomodation.

I found the Gipsy Point Lodge reasonable rates and they have a boat ramp
looking forward to the trip
