Yes the water was broken, but don't worry, the thermometer still works, about 15 degrees - in the water and out!!!
I don't have any pics but the buggers got at the Derwent and broke that too!!!!!!!! It was almost dead calm when I was out this afternoon.doh
This is what Bundaberg looks like at the moment, spent 7 hours in the boat today, a mate got 1 nice parrot and his son got 1 pan size snapper. We also got 2 reef sharks, and a heap of Pike we kept for trolled baits,Not a lot for the effort.

It should have tasted nice - I wore the slime for the rest of the day!!!!!!!!
I tried one of the large ones and thought it was pretty tough but I cooked it over a camp fire and i think it was too hot and for too long. They are very quick cooking for a nice soft dinner.
Thats one huge squid though pete... if you get a few more, send em up this way for bait thanks
A bloke I know caught one that was not that well,he brought it around to me, as he owed me some cash and said ,"here is that sick squid that I owe you ".
When I saw the title of this thread, old reflexes cut in. I grabbed the epidural kit and made my way to the labour ward. doh

A Southern Goat Fish or a Blue Spotted Goat Fish depending on the book you read.
No scale PP, so I'm giving Miss Jane the benefit of the doubt and assuming this was a 40 kilo Goat Fish?
And Miss Jane's should have an apostrophe. Stay after class.

I was trying to make Miss Jane feel good about her catch but here is the unedited version.

Do they grow to 40kgs Doug? We have never caught one before. I was actually teasing some toad fish with a soft plastic when it came out of nowhere and latched on. The water so clear - it was amazing to watch it take the hook.
We had so much fun even though we did not bring much home!! Fishing really is a great past time.
I have no idea how big they grow, Miss Jane. I recall catching something similar once but the water temp was about 10 degrees warmer.
Fishing (fly fishing, obviously) is a wonderful way to pass a day or two. Some Greek/Latin philosopher said that the hours a man spends fishing should not be deducted from his allotted life-span. Unemployable buggers like Giffo and Keith will live forever under that plan.
AHMEN Doug !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,I am not going fishing tomorrow, but am building a new boat trailer ATM.

Until you can post with apostrophes, there is little chance that I will entertain that idea!!!!
You need these to get boat to the water Doug.
