View Full Version : Alternative to ply for deck fitout
I remember reading on this forum (I think) there was a mention of an alternative to ply that can be used for deck fitout. I think it was plastic and quite expensive.
I have searched high and low but cannot find the post . Can anyone remember the material name or remember the post?
Thanks,
Richard (Woodsy)
I remember someone torking about it. Verrrrry expensive but super strong and light.
Squizzy - was that you?
I used honeycomb fibreglass, but only cost me bottle of Beam :)
Norm
2.2x3m sheet of HDPE- high density poly ethylene in 6mm
is only $130 from plastral 8mm will be even better, they might cut a sheet for u
use router to cut to size
-never worry about water damage-and u can plasticweld onto it whatever u want
Thanks for your suggestions guys. I think I will look into the HDPE option as it should be durable and easy to work with.
