Hey guys i went out on friday 21st may from manly to deep tempest reef 132klm round trip.It rained all the way out and we passed through a storm. When the rain stopped it was flatter than a shit carters hat (thats how someone on the radio discribed it) .We stopped on a spot on the way up and got two snapper, when we got to the reef there was 5 other boats there but not near my marks i found last season, nill wind and just say moving current and a good show on the sounder. As soon as you dropped down you were on and they were all snapper 2-2.5 kg each ,you had enough time to get the fish in the esky and drop it down for a another one before we drifted off them. We bagged out in less than an hour and all we were getting was snapper so we had a early day ( we had just finnished night shift so we were stuffed before we started any way).Just before we left one of the other boats came over and did a nice circle of my boat and left wtf and soon as we left he came straight over to where we were, bloody blow fly.You hope that he was responsable enough to just take his bag limit as we caught over 20 (released the others )I was driving back to the ramp with my feet it was that smooth.batteries were flat so no pics (test before heading outnext time).Went out to the same spot on wed 2nd june forcast was supposed to be good or better than the time before.Well it rained nearly all day as well as blowing up .Went to the same spot current was rageing so getting down was a problem .We got a good feed of snapper. Biggest went 5kg and pearlies and black spotted pig fish. Cheers Steve

Nice haul of fish Steve, ain't it great when the weather gods are on our side.I had a similar moron do a circle of my boat, whilst I was trying to land what turned out to be my 43lb Cobia, you gotta wonder what is going on in there heads.

Most larger boats don't need to circle you or come near for your GPS marks any more. They simply plot you on radar and bam - your spots are gone.

I don't have radar, so I'll be sure to wave when I come by yippy

That looks like a good haul Steve.

Got to love it when you can get onto a good spot & get a feed & then throw the rest back to get again another day.
