Hi all,

Let me first start by saying a big "Thank you" for all that's been shared on this forum - has been an absolute treasure trove of info.

I'm in the process of procuring my very first boat and still have questions - even though I've read nearly every single post on this/and the old forum.

A 5.99 cuddy is what I'm after and as a spearo' I may sport some different aspects to you all.

I need the fuel capacity of the 5.99 as it will be primarily used to transit myself and a lucky mate to GBR here off Magnetic Island, North Queensland, and secondly as a family cruiser round' the bays.

So - hello to all, and I apologize for the forthcoming questions - they'll be coming thick and fast!

I've a price rise deadline to beat, and it's approaching fast! (maybe mean the difference between a 150 or 175hp Suzy)

Once again, thanks!

Wadepee.

ps. oh, and tight lines, or whatever you lino's say!

Geday Wade,

Welome to the site,

I thought I'd get in first before someone starts dishing it out...

But youve read all the posts, you know what to expect.

Goodluck with the tub.

Welcome Wade
Well being a spearo, you may actually have photos of fish that you catch unlike the pretend rabble on here...laugh1

There are quite a few guys up here that go spearfishing for fish and cray and they are pretty well guarenteed a catch for the day

Hope they come through with the coloured 5.99 for you. Will be a nice platform to work from

yep, spent two years spearing in the Torres Strait. love it, I actually prefer it to normal fishing as you can select your catch, and finish them straight away (if you are a good shot that is!).

Steve B,

You are just the man I want to speak too,

In my hastily assumed state, I mistakenly took my towing capacity.

I'm now in quite a quandary!

Could you give me a possible weight for your rig all decked out for a day at the reef.

e.g. 200L fuel, water, esky/ice, fishin' gear. I'm guessing about 2.1T

I'm looking at a 2250kg tow capacity to do the job?

Cheers in advanced!
