What config 5.3 do you have ado??
In my Cuddy Cab I lifted the floor & fed the cables up through the black flex conduit in under the steering position.
I needed to unbolt the seat & let it sit on the floor as I lifted it as the control cables for the motor come up under there.
I found the hardest part was feeding then through said black flex conduit as it tends to pinch & it took some time to do. I had to slide the tube down & pull the cable up as I bought it back into position & then hold the cable as I moved the conduit back ready for the next go.

at least youi don't have to unbolt a console to remove your floor!!! not looking forward to running any further electrics in the boat but i am forced to for the live bait well
run some conduit then and leave a pulling wire - at least next time (which there allway s is)
it will be easy and the wires are protected
here is my best tip tho
start up everything and make sure its working before u put the floor back ;p

I am not too familiar with the 5.3 but assume its a similiar layout to my 5.99. I removed the floor and routed the cable from the forward control and wiring to below the console. Then into split conduit away from any other wiring as much as possible followed the fuel hose slot. through the back transom below the floor and then out to the rear step deck using the removing the rod holders to site the holes and run the cable. As for draw wires as Electricians call them try not to use metal wire it will cut the sheathing use tinned wire that you need for wiring its slipperier and less likley to get caught. Rayzor
