Hi. I would like to introduce myself, I have a 5.3 polycraft cuddy with a 115 Suzuki four stroke. Recently moved up to Bribie from Brisbane, both the wife and I are keen fisho's.
I'm impressed with the ride of the poly and how stable it feels, both on the move and at rest. Miles ahead of my old runabout tinny.
I have occasionally looked at this website in the past for tips, info etc. and always found it very helpful.
Hopefully some of my experiences will be helpful to others.

PolyFrank.

G'Day & welcome Frank,

Good to hear from someone else with a 5.3 Cuddy. I was getting sick of Pete going on about his all the time :D Have you had yours for a while? I'm hoping to get into one in the not-too-distant future.

Hi Will and Stealth.

I have had the Poly 3 years from new,my old boat was a Quintrex 4.75 runabout with a 75 two stroke. With the "Millennium hull", looked impressive but my spine wasn't impressed. Any decent chop slowed me down big time.

I launch from Spinnaker Sound as well, ideal spot regardless of the wind. Wish they had made the parking bays a bit wider, have to be careful who I park next to. (bragging about how wide the 5.3 is Will).
I don't work Fridays so the wife and I try to get out then to beat the crowds, unless any of the family are staying the weekend and want to go fishing.
Cannot recall seeing your boat Stealth, but have seen a 5.99 cuddy launch from there.

Look dont worry about these morons Frank, They are racist and will judge you based on the colour of your boat. Some of us here dont care what colour your hull is, as long its white (and your not a scotsman).

"as long its white (and your not a scotsman). "

Andy, the corrected version of that is:
"as long as it's white (and you're not a Scotsman).
Please write that out 100 times before school tomorrow.

I know where you live.....

I did a course at uni bout somthing to do with writing for modern professional engineers. I did pass it, just, but that was a good 10 years ago or more. I did fail english in school too, maybe thats why they decided they did not want me in year 11 and 12, or maybe they did not like me speaking french.

Forgot to mention that these racist bastards also hate white engines, but in this case they are correct.

Well Doug it's looks like your the scotsman and 49er at that, well beat you by one year,1948 is my birth year and even better still I am a Geordie. Or was before coming to this great country 30 years ago.
I wonder how many members know what a geordie is.

Look polyFrank, being a Geordie is nothing to brag about. Best I can say is you're a would-be-Scotsman who didn't get over Hadrian's wall in time.

I don't know anyone born in 1948 who's still alive. You must be very old!

We've been here since 1978, so get yer knees brown, sonny!

You can't be all bad though, as you have a white boat and a Suzuki motor.2thumbsup

Ok, add that to the list of people I hate, bloody geordies... My old man is not far off being one of them, perhaps just a tad south in the more cultured regions, bit like myself actually (just a little further south again). Not sure who I hate more, geordies or Scots. I forget the others I hate, but its in a thread here somewhere.

Ha Ha you would have to hate Geordies more Andy because they escaped over the wall out of Scotland.

Had to look at the map to find Wheatly Hill Steve b, I was born in Bishop Auckland. My parents moved to Newcastle when I was young, so I cannot claim to be a true Geordie.

Hi there polyFrank, good to see you off to a flying start on this site.
I thought the term "Geordie" loosely applied to all Scots???
Apparently that's no the case. (yes that's a silent T.)

P.S there's only room for one Scot on here, and to be honest the one we have is a bit of a crowd.

Ah steve b, got the map out again and Wheatly is nearer Newcastle than Bishop Auckland.
So you have the honour of copping all the Geordie jokes.

Hate to drag this thread from the dead, but I cannot think where to post this. I must be the oldest forum member, According to Doug I’m the only one older than him who is still alive?
