Well as I said when I joined this forum I was going to make changes to my 455 and it has begun lots of drinking and thinking and now its coming together.
First was to completely gut the boat and throw away all the mistakes that were done by the previous owner ie- ally fuel tank(with holes) that was too tall but still bolted the floor on top and actually warped it, the wiring was to say the least bloody hidious with joins everywhere and not sealed, holes drilled or should I say hacked out of the floor for wires and cables couldn't be patched up as I wanted to shift the console forward. So I decided a new floor and console were needed. So now the floor is in the console is in, the wiring is done,a new stainless 70lt tank fitted, hydraulic steering fitted to console now waiting for the new 60hp Suzuki 4stroke.The fibreglass hard top is underway as is the stainless rails and rod holders. Will keep you updated with pics.Cheers all

Hey Karl
Sounds awesome! Be careful with the stainless fuel tank as they have been known to suffer fatigue with the constant "poly flex".
Look forward to your photos.

They are now made from plastic, as you would expect the new plastic tanks are able to flex with the boat. Hopefully eliminating fatigue fractures and cracks commonly found when using metal and or stainless steel.

I'm buying a 2009 4.8, would that have a plastic tank? Cheers.

Hi Big fella I will be mounting the tank on insertion rubber and the floor where it meets the top of the tank will also be rubber I think this will eliminate any fracturing
