The Bandit thread was getting a bit long, so I though I would start a new thread to show the fish we get. The weather here is awful at the mo, but hopefully it will pick up next week so I can get out a bit more often.

Cheers

Well spotted Doug!!!!

Keithy P

Nothing happens quickly in FNQ, so we have a special FNQ-time rule where you can Get a little orenge flag so you can go fishing while our paperwork catches up with the NSW construction process..doh

Na, only joking. Whilst they process commercial registrations you can aquire an RUF (restricted use flag) so that you can operate whilst the paperwork goes through.

But thanks for noticing Doug, I'll ask them iff I can send it down to you when I finish so they let you ride your scooter while your waiting for youre L's

Doug
27-07-2010, 21:37
"while your waiting for your L's "

Damn cheek, m'boy. I've had a rider's licence since 1973. However, I did read an article recently that said "old pharts" like me, getting back on a bike after n (where n tends to infinity) years were at high risk. So, I'm going to do a course. (There might be chickybabes on it.)

True, its basically being held together by feropi and the galleries of the donk are basically just one big gallery... but still she goes, In all her bum-jarring, juice guzzling, earsplitting, smoke billowing glory!!!

A couple of fish from the last couple of days,

beautiful sunset mate,

i'm obviously going to have to visit to show you how to fish properly? ;)

Thanks Pete, yeah its been good to take out experienced fishermen, understanding of the trying conditions in the creek, but they also went to the reef on the cat and cleaned up.

No worries drift, you show me how its done mate. Thats actually a sunRISE mate, up here the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. You'll get used to it when you get up here laugh1

sh*t i was raised up there...should have realised that...more caffeine required! what size cat mate?

i was expecting slightly more competitive banter though Keith..feeling ok?

Keithy P

I am not allowed to talk about the cat sorry drift, its made out of aliminium...

Please dont tell anyone I mentioned it, but its 10m with twin 225 yammys.

http://i971.photobucket.com/albums/ae199/keithy_p/IMG_0103.jpg

We use it to take punters fishing and swimming out to the reef and isles. But dont let anyone know that I showed you.....

And in regards to banter. this site is the official forum for poly boat owners in this country, and as such, there is no place for "banter" as you call it, tom foolery I say, no need for it, immature raillery, makes a mockery of the good name of site administration and assosiated cheif officers...... for shame!!!

If you're going to use dirty words, Keith, at least ensure you spell them right. I can see you joining Poly at Miss Jane's Saturday remedial classes.

and as a hypothetical... could mates* be allowed to purchase a reef fishing ticket too, on the fictional cat? (without having to re-mortgage to stay at the lodge?) :)

well soon to be mates, internet-mates at the moment...

any pics from those trips? although the fictional cat is far uglier than your lovely poly bandit..

also, any camping spots anywhere nearby?

Keithy P
21-08-2010, 17:48
Hey drift, there is no where out here that we can take the cat, that you cant get to in your brumby, particularly with the clears and stuff you'll have. My recommendation would be to drop into Bloomfield when you are heading to Cooktown, you can put you boat in at our wharf. You can leave the car there its safe as houses, pack the boat with your camping gear and camp out on hope islands for a few days. There are some nice camp sites, and its a good base to get to numerous reefs in the area.

Cheers

Went out this morning with a young couple from NT. Horrible weather, got a little bit wet on the way out.

We sent down the first sard and within seconds the line went slack. Wound it in and the line had been shaved off with a razor. I sez "yee ha, MACKIS are here!!" we dont often see big spaniards so close to shore, so I gave the bloke a little barra lure to chuck out on 20lb flick rod. Instantly he got smashed by a good queeny, dropped him, then another big queeny, took ages to get up. Sent him on his way and then next cast we found the lurking macki. Serious fight on 20lb gear, by the time we got him out it was really blowing. Time to go home.

The whole trip took exactly one hour from loading them on at the dock to unloading them and the fish then washing the blood off the deck. Awsome.

Nice mackie for sure, hoping to find a few this month as the big ones come in to breed this time of year up here
