I've just moved to the northern beaches, Bucasia to be exact I have a few questions for some of the locals.

Where is a good place to get a decent pie around here.
Where is a good diesel Mechanic i need the injectors done on my ute.
Where are good areas for land based fishing.
Where is a good pub nearby.
Any golfers here tell me what the course is like and if you want a game one weekend.
Lastly anyone interested in a 4x4 one weekend and few beers.

Alcorns Bakery has the best Pie's in town

The river is pretty good at dusk, lamberts beach has some good rocky areas, and i think you're able to fish off the rock wall at the harbour again since the cyclone destroyed it. never been fishing at the northern beaches, but I hear around shoal point is ok aswell

Where is a good pub nearby.
Eimeo Tavern would be the best, mainly for the awsome view.

I know theres a few polycraft boats in Mackay, but we only just got a local dealer this year. i'd say there will be plenty more seeing how mackay has the most boats per person i think in the country
