I got some 7" but here's a link to some 5" plastics. They seem pretty good (while peering into the packet), I won't know for sure until I get back to NQ.

I got a good range of colours (it's a random selection), from white to black.

Enjoy.

What DVRDVE said,

I have not had any luck on slams, even white 7" jerkshads which are THE colour of choice for almost any situation up here. There was a Gulp white 7" jerkshad shortage up here for a while, so I had to use slams. My mates were fishing in the boat next to me flicking at same the rock.... They still had a few gulps, they caught 4 or 5 barra, a salmon and a massive Flatty to my ZERO fish.

But that could just be us.

Also, Mo tackle sell slams for $5.95 and you can choose your colour.

Not to rain on your parade Drift, cheers for the info. Please do keep posting any bargains you spot, they are always handy to know about.

Ta,

Keith

cheers guys,

i'll have a crack with them anyway and let you know how they go... or i'll wait until mates are onboard and i'll rig them up a slambait while i use a gulp :)

seriously though, there must be a use for them. i'll try cutting the tail thinner for more action and see if that makes a difference.

p.s if white works well then black should work just as well imo..

tried black -white outfishes everything else-even bait
i do a lot of my fishing after hrs and into failing light- white works anytime of the day
i didnt believe it but now only carry white
there is a bigger body southafrican made plastic out- sorry left the packet on the boat - i tried it on last stint, 12 inch size , weather was mostly foul but got 4 nice trout in the about 2 hrs fishing all 5- 7kg the big plastic got slammed so hard that i had to replace with the std big gulp
trawled bibbed lures(1x halco deep diver 1x xrap) for about 1hr plastics for rest
i 5kg chinaman for all that on lure
4 trout(coral) numerous other stuff on plastic
drifter mate, use the stuff u got (slambait) but take 1 packet gulp with as well
if i cost up a trip for the average bloke in fuel, grog boat etc, good soft plastic is worth every cent when it works better- where u fish the slambait might just go off-

this following product has saved me bit of $$ before

I have been told that you can melt the soft plastic in the microwave & pour it again to make "new" lures out of old ones. . . . . . but I dont know where to get the mold from.

Thanks Dave, you can also heat up a camp stove and use a flat blade knife (or whatever) to basically burn soft plastics back together.

I'll definitely check out the Gulp mate but I'll also try putting a different scent on the slams and changing their swimming action slightly...let you blokes know how i go. when you remember that SA SP maker lmk mate, i'd be keen to get a few 30cm soft plastics, not the Kalin Big'N'Grub is it? Got a few on the way with some serious jig heads for deepwater jigging for reds. will put up a review once I've tested them out..

Pete there's some DIY mold tips online just google it, otherwise you can buy molds from the states and probably here somewhere, however I'm fairly new to plastics so I'm not the best person to ask about them (yet). I plan to make my own lead head jigs though, very simple and you can choose what hooks are used.

Cheers mate.
