I have been searching for weeks trying to find the floor covering i currently have in my 4.55, and untill the start of this week all i was hitting was dead ends.

But i have found it

Carpet choice stores can supply it but i was shocked at the price $99 a square meter. I will be trying to find it cheaper as i will be needing 8 square meters (4m length x 2m wide roll).

For marine carpet i would be paying around 200 for the same amount. The reason i would like the flotex over carpet is it does not hold water, dirt, mud, etc and hooks cant get caught in it, plus it is rubber backed and very supple which will make it alot easier to fold over edges.

Looks the goods Mcgyver.
Check on the price unit as most carpet is sold by the lineal metre.
So if its 2000mm wide and you buy 1m you get 2x square metres?

Hi McGyver
We are having Flotex installed at work and had the full hardsell on cleaning and upkeep and it seams a great product and was hoping to get a few metres of offcut to do my 599 :D , However the bad news is it cannot be used outside due to having no UV stabilisation. They will not install on balconies or any area in direct sunlight(not through glass) areas. If installed it will disintigrate within a year.

From the FAQ commercial sheet
CAN FLOTEX BE USED OUTSIDE?
No. Whilst Flotex is completely waterproof it is not designed to be used outdoors in direct sunlight.

bigfella i did check that and it is actually $99/sq not $99/m.

Dreamin i was wondering the same thing about the UV rating, so far the flotex in my boat is going strong and it is a 05 hull.
