View Full Version : Bundy Fishing
Went out from Bundy this morning, cold and crap weather. The wind chop from the south made it slow going and it took about 70 minutes to get to the spot. The Grassy Sweetlip was the best fish of the day, I had it at the side of the boat and whilst trying to lift it in the boat the leader slipped. The second Gamagatsu 1.0 on the Paternosta rig had embedded in the pointer finger of my left hand up past the barb, and the 3kg Sweety was trying to swim back home(agro). It is amazing what goes through your mind in a split second, like this is not a good thing ,I was screaming like a girl, and my mate thought I had just lost the fish. I managed to pull the hook out of my finger while hanging over the side of the boat, before my mate boated the fish. I will be off to the Doc in the morning as it looks infected already from all the crap on the hook. My new Navman 4500 colour sounder is amazing, I can actually see my bait sink to the bottom. The run home was perfect, in about 35 minutes.

Good to see someone was able to get out fishing today and you still got a reasonable feed. Look forward to your tetnaus needle. Jelifish

Theres nothing wonderful about my fishing land at the mo. Still blowing its absolute ring out here. I got my pretty new boat and no oppertunity to use it.
Give those red fish a chance to fatten up I guess
Nice Grassy, would have given a bit of a tug.

hey giffo, were you fishing the southern gutters? I am in Hervey Bay, struggling to find fish recently, tough work finding a good spot.
No mate, the 15 mile gutters N/E of the Burnett River.Heaps of small pickers, in between anything of legal length.A mate that traveled out with us did not do very well either. We threw back a number of reds, cod and snapper that were just under size.No Mackeral or Cobia to be found with live slimies on the downrigger.Bloody frustrating for the effort !.
rissile86,motor up to Bloomfield FNQ.Apparently, the fish are committing suicide up there !laugh1laugh,All in good fun Keithy laugh1 CU in Chat tomorrow night for a jousting match !
