Hi,
I have 5.3m Centre console, and it's bit wet at times in bay chop
I heard somewhere that you can buy spray deflectors for 5.3m poly's and get them plastic welded onto the front chines and they reduce spray by up tp 80%.

Apparently they are a shaped flat bit of poly that sticks out a couple of inches at 90 degress to hull at the bow that deflect spray down to make other spray get knocked down.

Has anyone seen these or got any experience with them?

Mine were fitted in 08 by barneys, they work well I'd hate to have a poly without them. Not sure if they stop 80 % of the spray that other 20 % feels wet.

Cheers Andrew.

Hi Chozza and Polyphonic,
Thanks for replies, I shall contact Barney's to see about getting them done on next trip North. Anything that helps keep wife and kids dry will help for family fishing days and justify expenditure so I stay dry on solo days.
Cheers, Nemo

Bones and I had ours done at the same time - the thread mentioned earlier is about the ones that we got on our respective boats. My is a 4.8 brumby rear centre console and Bones is a 4.55 centre console.

The imporvement is outta sight!! It cost us $350 each but I have never been drier before. There are many times I have been out and realise that I would have been soaked if it wasn't for them.

Highly recommend getting them done.

Cheers

So at $350 or more, people are suggesting this a vaule-for-money upgrade?

Hmmmm... Don't mind getting a little wet, it's part of the ritual, but maybe the others in the boat would prefer otherwise...

Does anyone know a competent group that can do this in the Mackay to Townsville area?

Hi all,

G'day mick, I been busy so I havn't had a chance to get back to you yet.

Jumping on the band wagon, does anyone know somebody who can fit these in the cairns area?? I recon it would be worth the money and the drive down.

Cheers
