I have a 4.10 poly which i keep my fuel, safety gear and battery under the rear casting deck. At the moment it smells pretty bad from the fuel and i'd like to run a tank breather to the hull. The biggest problem i have is finding the rite tank (20-30L) which has a connection for a breather that can fit inside the hull.
any ideas let me know!
cheers!!
There are after market tanks (eg Whitworths) that have a second hole to allow you to pour fuel out of the tank easily. Remove that cap and attach (fuel-proof) tube to a through hull breather, also obtainable at chandlers. You'd just have the inconvenience of two disconnects when you remove the tank.

this is what i ended up doing.
the odd looking coke bottle bong looking thing is there to trap any water that may come back thru the breather. don't think there will be much. better safe then sorry!

Looks like it will do the job Polymac, make sure you turn the breather away form the spray or your coke bottle trap can will fill up rather quickly!
I have found a standard fuel screw in barb fits the thread after you remove the breather screw from the cap if needed?
Beats fuel fumes everywhere!

yeah thats what i used, $4 from bcf, job easy done
i think it was a $30 total cost. money well spent if it keeps the fuel smell out of everything
mack could build you a tank of any size if it helps
Cheers

i've been thinking of getting one built. theres a poly 40l tank that fits great with all the ports for $250.
500mmx 400mmx300mm i think that makes 60l
pm me a price when you get a moment, no big hurry what i've got atm will do for a while, but i will want more fuel onboard
i would also like to know the price as well for a +-60l jobbie
