Cochrane Artificial Reef - Bundaberg

Anyone fished it? Any good? How long does the run take to the reef?

4.5, I live about 20ks from it and have not done all that well there,but I have been told it fishes best at night.In saying that, a bloke I know said he saw a couple of young bloke fishing soft plastics last week on the arti and cleaned up on Snapper !Maybe I need more education .

yeah i think softplastics are definitely effective! also large saltwater flies like the PETackle flies, i'm going to tie up some large salt flies for reef fishing, put them on the bottom dropper and bait on the top... so you're fishing even when baited.

i'll post some pics when i get around to doing that, won't be for a few months tho, once settled in Cairns.

Are you coming down to Bundy ?

yep but unsure if spending time in bundy yet...that reef sounds tempting though and would be fun to watch on the side imager.

my wife and i will be driving from noosa to cairns and we've decided to fish from about bundy/gladstone to cardwell over a couple of weeks... so we just have to decide where to stop and fish, most important will be a relaxing camping area; and boat wash down facilities..

will definitely have to have a fish if we stop in bundy. happy to have a fish with other PB members on the way north too, if you're free and keen.
