G'day Guys

Here we have Marine Cab's NEW YELLOW tail!
Destined for work in the water taxi field on our fantastic Hawkesbury River around Brooklyn and beyond!

Rick has asked if I could post some first see pictures so we can keep a documented diary of the build up of what will be a truly unique Polycraft 5.3 Warrior!

The Etec 115HO is booked and waiting delivery in the coming weeks, this taxi is going to be one quick puppy!
Hope Rick doesn't charge by the minute, cause with the 115HO he'll be losing money!!!!!!

Anyway, here are the first pics of Rick's work bus!

ya gotta wonder whether its a cost saving factor by PC by going for a one piece windscreen.

Not sure if it would be cheaper for the end user to replace the yellow peril one or yours (pirate) Pete?

After looking at Whittos and Marks Triumphs and comparing them to the PC range, PC have a lot to learn about quality, inclusions, functionality, design aesthetics and finish.

Diamond vs Sandstone... no contest (whistle)

The other thing is how strong would the screen be??????

I cant remember who's screen it was that blew to bits the first time he towed it with the clears attached to the bimini.

Plus that nice round bar looks good to hold in rough weather but there is nothing bracing it at all.

I have run a rope track right round the outside of my screen

http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee312/Polyboatowner/RopeTrack.jpg

am thinking I might run a strip of ally down the middle brackets & fix it into the front of the cab for extra support.

and if you look at the bar, it is held in place by those plastic bimini brackets.

Time to lift the game a bit PC. It wouldnt take much for a big fella in a rough sea to pull that off and being attached to the screen...

it could only end in blood and tears! :(

I found the link to Oldieman's screen failure on his 5.3 Front Runner.

http://www.polyboatowners.com/pboforum/view_topic.php?id=2784&forum_id=3

His screen is set up the same as mine

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww241/odieman150/IMG_0427.jpg

& once the clears filled the gap between the screen & bimini. the wind just ripped it to bits

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww241/odieman150/IMG_0437.jpg

This is why I ran a continous rope track right around the out side of the screen & am thinking that a strip down the 2 centre strips that then come out say 50mm onto the top of the cab & bolt through to add extra strength.

Looks like your screen is a front runner screen Pete, same quarters fixed together?
The single screen looks better, more finished but I aggree they have a way to go to reach the finish of the Triumphs and so forth!

The Triumphs are one of the best if the best finished non glass boats going!

Comparing the two is really like comparing a Polycraft boat pre 2001 with one of today's breed. Like cheese and chalk really!

Does anyone know how the Triumphs are priced in comparison to the equivalent Polycraft?

The centre section is smaller than a Frontrunner's Biggie.
