Hi Guys,
My dad pointed out that I think my Oceanic Trailer has not been set up with right springs. I have contacted them and they seem to be dragging their feet in their replys.

Your thoughts on attached photos.

First photo shows the bottom spring which I think normally hangs free rubbing at a angle.
The 2nd photo shows the small gap between wheel and guard. While there are no signs of rubbing. It is fairly small.

Their initial reponse was that the third leaf should run just under the box but straight and that there should be a 6 pack with max load of 1200kg. I replied saying its a 5 pack and the boat/engine weight is about 720kg + say another 100kg of camping gear some times and I think its fairly pushed. Haven't heard back after this.

Regards
Shane

i think they have done a bodgie on you. they are slipper springs and they should all be in that box section,ie keeper.
get on to them and up grade to the 6 leaf for sure.

Hi Guys,

and dont forget the 70+ kg of fuel and all the marine equipment and electronic toys etc etc....

Give em grief and get them to fix it!

Was that a 2nd hand boat or a new one from the dealer? If so then PC should be kicked in the pants for sending it out like that or at least the dealer...

Let us know how you go

How did you adress this issue? I am presuming by your post that you went back to the dealer?

Good news that you have the new ones, did you have to pay anything toward the replacements?

Have fun fitting them :D

Hi,
No I contacted Oceanic directly trying to get springs in time for service and fit at same time. However in hindsight after talking with dealer I should have gone via dealer as the trailer is supplied by Polycraft and trailer choice is normally theirs so they are apparently point of contact via dealer. Also Dealer needs to charge thier labour to someone and as PC supply trailer its them, but they have to approve the work.

Oceanic to their credit acknowledged the springs were not right by the photos although going back through emails I never actually proved it was a Oceanic trailer apart from the green blob sitting atop it. ie I never took a photo of builders plate. I'll do it Monday for their follow up if they so choose to do so.

Oceanic freighted springs direct to dealer ASAP. But as the dealer is absolutely flat out and cannot do it prior to xmas I have taken them home for exchange myself, not a big job, 10 bolts all up.

So I have a pair of brand new galv springs, only been in water maybe 10 times. As I have no need I'm going to try and sell via work classifieds (1500 people in local area use it, bigger than local rag). Probably suitable for the 4.5 hulls.

Special offer. Any PBO member willing to pick up can have them free if they let me know by 22th Dec, pick up no later than first week of Jan as I'm going away for a bit and having a clean up. Thats Gladstone, or Tamborine Village after 8th Jan as that is where boat is staying when I go OS for a bit.
