OK gang. Has anyone fitted a marine stero and speakers in a 530 cuddy? Any suggestion on how, where they fitted the speakers would be great. Not much room up in the helm area near the fwd controls, and wonderring if it can be done along sides of inside wall of hull in deck area? Is it ok to cut through this area??
Cheers,

Hi Wrass
I have fitted speakers into my Cuddy Cab
The Starboard one clears the throttle. I had to make up a spacer to fit the head end. I fitted it where the VHF was & mounted that down out of the way

& the port is a peice of cake

Not often I agree with you DD, but I can't think why anyone would want muzak while fishing.

Maybe wrassinator wants to play cd’s of screaming drags when fishing!
Speakers are for big fly bridge cruisers full of scantily clad dolly birds who need the music to keep them entertained. We don’t need any of that do we!!!!

Ok, now I am in serious trouble... I think its time to seek out some therapy. I refuse to fit a wireless to my boat for the very same reason.
So, Andy agrees with me?? Pass the valium, someone.
" I think its time to seek out some therapy."
I can possibly arrange "mates' rates" for you Andy. Send me your Medicare number and $100.

I don't hit the water without music. I've busted the Myth that fish are scared off by the sound of music in a boat. I have always caught more fish with the music ON.
I fitted my speakers below the seats, I didn't want to cut into the hull. The magnet doesn't intrude at all on the marine battery which in the port side under the seat, or the tackle box in the Starboard side.
I also didn't go for the option of Marine Speakers, I found them to be 3 times the price of the Poly cone Sony speakers pictured. I listened to the Marine Speakers against standard car speakers and the Marines sounded terrible, no base at all.
I have had the Sony's in now for 2 years and never had an issue with them, I hose them down when I clean the boat, and I get out at least once a week. Even if you buy a second set of Poly Cone Car speakers, you still come out ahead of buying 1 set of Marines.
Just my 2 bobs worth.

Glad I don’t go fishing next to you.
I posted an experience the wife and I had out in the middle of Moreton Bay a few months back. It was so glassed out there was no sound from the water on the hull and no other sound at all. A tranquil experience you rarely get to experience. Total silence barring some passing dolphins.
Fishing was crap but you can’t have everything.

Seat boxes make great speaker boxes.
I mounted mine to the rear of the set box
Great to keep up on weather updates and Sat mornings fishing broadcast of what bitting

u guys crack me up...the fusion MS200 is on the way ! Ipod connectivity, flash drive plugin for MP3 @ rear...sorry to get too techo old boys...lol...Will post pix on completion. Tossing up speaker location in box seats or like yrs mid ships pete...I think that might be the best option as up off the deck allows better noise projection and water resistance...
Acca Dacca will be blaring as I skull drag some dhus !! Ahhhh the (bogan) serenity...lol ha ha ha ha

Sweet Nigel, sweet! Poita needs to get with the times dude!
I gotto admit, I'm also a music man. The 1st thing I did was to get a new console plate CNC'd to fit a marine radio & a CD/DVD/MP3 player in the boat. LOVE my music.
I also agree totally with sheebaridgeback about music scaring off fish. Its crap! I have fished all my yrs of tournaments with music on and people even came close to me and asked me to turn it up so they could listen to it as well LOL. Of course there has to be a limit of respect for others around, thats why it has a remote control with a volume adjuster on it HaHa.
But each to is own, and mine is to be smoothed by the calming music of Joe Satriani
Also I think a nice rack on the boat looks HOT
Cheers
