Hi all,

I have joined up as i am looking at buying my first boat and talking to a few people a poly is the go!
Thought i could use the forum to get some dos and don'ts on the whole poly boat thing.
Pretty keen on a Polycraft 4.5 centre console with around a 60hp 4 stroke motor.
If anyone has a setup similar i would love to pick their brains.

Thanks in advance

Evan

Hi Evfish
Welcome to the forum.
There are a few here with a 4.5 centre consol and a 60hp motor, I’m sure they will offer any advice you ask.
Anyway you are on the right track. Poly with a four stroke. Way to go.

Hi Evan,

Welcome aboard this madness, I've got a 4.8mt cuddy cab and my only advise is to power your boat to the max allowable and you wont go wrong

Cheers Wilko

I have a 4,55 Centre Console with a 60 hp 4 stroke Yammy on the back and love it,had it 9 years now and got rid of the 2 stroke Yammy and put the 4 banger on last year.stable, quiet and easy to clean and can tow with a small car.About the only down side is storeage,Oh and they are a VERY wet boat.

"Oh and they are a VERY wet boat."

That's why you are so perfectly matched to it, Giffo.

[Evfish, Giffo is a fireman, so we have to make allowances. He also drinks rum.]
