View Full Version : I have a confession pbo father....
Forgive me all for I have sinned...
It was a beautiful morning... no wind... no waves ... sun shining... weather warm... just the day for being on the water...
a friend rang at 8am .. "dja wanna go fishun?"
Well how could I resist, its been months since I was out on the water, apart from the ferry ride across to the shopping island!
I got me gear together and headed off... when I suddenly realised...
the boat, it's a t... t... ti...tin... tinn... tinnie!!!!!!!!!!!
"OMG!" I thought, "I hope someone doesnt see me!" Bit like the joke about riding a fat chick and a jap bike..
So fellow PBO'ers... please accept my apologies for my transgression. It was the temptation of the conditions. :(
But dont worry. If a boat came within a km I ducked down low so no one could see me... and I wore my Polycraft Cap and Shirt to protect me from the Aluminium death rays emitting from the hull. And I had a shower when I got home to remove the tin infestation! ;)
This was the temptation....

They thought they were on......

Hmmm.... your contrition is noted.
However, I still think the High Council should meet to decide if further punishment is necessary...
Of course, had it not been such a nice day, I'd have said a trip in a tinny was punishment enough!

:p

In all honesty it was a bit choppy on the way home and my back is sore now... all that crashing into the waves... might have to take some pain killers ... (alco)
LOL mate :)
how did u go? any fish?

how did u go? any fish?
ok here is the kicker... and its not my fault...
I got me stuff ready, was asked to tow the boat to the ramp cos Simones car was playing up, and got out on the water and realised... ummm... oops ... forgot the rod.(agro)
Now I say its not my fault cos I always go out in my boat and load everything up in that before I go ... it was the change in routine that did it... or that sneaky Doug was around.. so its his fault.
Anyway trolled for an hour and they pulled in a couple of small trout. I just kicked back and relaxed in the sun, it was nice to not be captain or have anything to do for a while. We did go for a swim though... water like a tepid bath... sorry down south guys...(whistle)

Well at least "The Orphan" & I spent the afternoon on a poly Kayak.
We paddled down the Mersey River in Tasmania. We only did a small part of the river but spent about 3 hours on the water. I will have to think about joining Dougs mob & start to chuck some fluff about. We saw heaps of small brown trout jumping out of the water after damsel flies. Some times we could see 5 or 6 trout out of the water at 1 time.
Here is a pic of the group.

Just checked the route on Google Earth. We paddles about 10.7Ks in about 3 hours.

Here is a larger scale to show Devonport where the Spirit of Tasmanias come in to give you an idea where we were.
